Re: Scorpion Controller Board

Hmm, This would only possibly affect the GPS, as the video and aerocomm are both TX.

Re: Scorpion Controller Board

I'm now using two LM22676MR vreg's on the board, using a schematic designed in webbench with all the values correct for 5v and 3.3v @ 2.5A. These are quite a bit smaller overall than the old supply circuits. PCB is now ~76 x 60mm with mounting holes and some space left for the other parts i need to ...

Re: Scorpion Controller Board

I'm going to switch the power supplies over to smaller IC's and smaller diodes so as to greatly reduce the footprint on the board.

Re: Scorpion Software

No it's not, it's simply send/receive. It doesn't even send an acknowledged packet as i'm not sure if the link will be maintained across the flight.

Re: Scorpion Software

Today I worked on the RF protocol some more. I now have a PC app sending data to a NetMF application via serial, or a NetMF app sending to PC. This has the full packet data implemented except using USB to TTL rather than the aerocomms. Everything is handle and debugged very well - it doesn't mind ge...

Re: RF Links

As a test, i moved the transceivers into separate rooms, there is now probably 15metres spacing between the modules and 2 brick walls. 100% power (1Watt) and 4800bps data rate gives me ~93% of packets. I still think aerocomms awful software has a lot to do with the error rate. Data timeouts and erro...

Re: RF Links

Ok so been doing more testing and reading the docs. I was having a lot of problems with reliability at 1W transmit, so i changed some settings and am getting much more reliable data when up close. Interface timeout = 21 Stop bit delay 0 Baudrate 2400 Broadcasting, not paired. I'm starting to think t...

Re: RF Links

I now have both my transceivers set to 2400baud, max power 10mw (low power). They appear (without having read the docs) to automatically set their power as required. Setting one dev board to USB enable and the other to loopback Writing 32byte packets (same as a GPS + header) as a "timed" t...

Re: RF Links

Installing the aerocomm software is a PAIN IN THE ARSE on windows 7. This is because the drivers in both the installer on the CD, and the download off the website don't have signed drivers! Based on my testing (numerous system roll backs) - you need to install the new silicon labs CP210X usb to uart...
