Re: FFT Audio Spectrum Analysis

I had to add a heatsink on the 7805 regulator when running off the 12V wall-wart because it was overheating and experiencing thermal shutdown, which corrupted the data. The sensor was also moved off the board on a 6-inch tether to provide better thermal isolation. The nett effect of the latest modif...

Re: FFT Audio Spectrum Analysis

I have tweaked the VFD I2C routines as best as I can and they're still too slow for a real-time full-screen update. It looks like I'm going to have to find a faster type of display. In the meantime, the weather has turned wet and it was rather chilly two nights ago, which left me wondering exactly h...

Discharge curves as follows:- Alkaline-discharge.jpg From this chart we can see that the Panasonic EVOLTA has the highest discharge capability, along with the Panasonic "Digital" alkaline. The Energizer e2 is slightly lower but sustains the discharge for a longer period. Duracell is except...

Re: Battery Performance Tester

At long last, I've finally gotten down to actually testing the batteries. For the sake of absolute consistency, I am testing them all on channel 1 so it's taking longer than if I were to press all four or even five channels into use. In any case I am starting with all the non-renewable cells picture...

Re: FFT Audio Spectrum Analysis

I've got the skeletal code going and I2C communications with the VFD is working. Unfortunately, it is starting to look like the render rate is rather slower than I like it to be. This is going to require more exploration:-
