Re: GPS Flight telemetry
I've ordered one of the sparkfun Venus solutions with the 636 chip on it (hoping to receive 638 from SkyTraq) to develop against, as well as some other sensors that i don't have. We've been umming and arring over this project for too many years! I'm going to start working on this seriously now testi...

Re: GPS Flight telemetry
The limitations may be different from other brands due to how they interpret the COCOM rules. The asians are very liberal in their implementation, others may take it more as it is implied rather than so literally. Talking with Daniel on Skype, we prefer an external antenna solution anyway. The SUP50...

Re: GPS Flight telemetry
That's only confirmed for the SkyTraq units Chris, as i told you. Other companies may implement it differently (especially non-cn/hk/tw companies)

Re: CASA
I think we talked about that previous. 1) What if one balloon bursts before the other? It will just float around up there for ages unless we can kill it... which means we need 45km or more control range + the weight of a termination device. for our first launch lets try to keep it simple and we can ...

CASA
http://www.casa.gov.au/newrules/parts/101/download/nprm0009os.pdf Page 37 on covers unmanned free balloons. I think we would be covered as an light balloon - no more than 2m at any point in it's flight (would have to check the physics for how it would be at it's apex) and less than 4kg of payload. W...

GPS Flight telemetry

i think we need to replicate this. It's UBX based and they claim it works at 60,000ft. So i think that's our answer for the gps unit.
