SunSDR2DX to SPE 1.3K-FA cable

In our cable the PC817 optocoupler is flipped upside down to get the pins in a matching orientation. The pins have been bent up. The SPE supposedly requires only a 2mA current rating so the PC817 should be okay (nominal 5mA). There is a 620-ohm resistor in series with the driver LED to drop the forward current to 20mA and forward voltage to 1.2V off a 13.8V drive level.

Okay yes!!!! The details for making the TCI bridge:-

1. Using the OLIMEX ESP32-PoE-ISO board
2. R37 needs to be removed from the board
3. The data input from the SPI to pin 36 of the board is clamped down with 1x LED and 2x 1N4148 types, all in series, giving a clamp of 1.7+0.6+0.6 = 2.9V roughly
4. After the clamp the signal is fed via a 1k resistor to pin 36
5. Output from pin 4 to SPE RXD is direct, no protection required
6. In the TCI serial initialization, you need to specify INVERT (true for the last parameter)
7. The remote activation will require a 12V-ish level but otherwise works
